And it’s not just with books, either. It’s easy to criticize or judge a person, at first glance, purely by their outward appearance.

After seeing this happen time and time again in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, local barber Alysha Osborne set out to change the way people view residents of the controversial neighbourhood that she called home. And she decided to do it — through haircuts.
